[1] The gathering of information and preparation of an estate plan requires a significant amount of work at the front end of the process. The process also inherently takes time from the beginning to completion. Unfortunately, some clients do not follow through with the process and, because not completed, fail to pay for work performed. The retainer provides both an incentive for the client to complete the process and protects HaasCaywood PC from matters where significant work is performed, but not paid by the client. No work will be performed until the full retainer is received.
[2] The Estate Planning Packages do include standard incidental copy and postage costs, but do not include, where applicable, any governmental or other filing fees. Sometimes the circumstances and needs for your situation require us to perform services beyond the standard documentation and services provided on a fixed fees basis or typical costs. In those instances, the additional services will be billed at an hourly rate or extraordinary costs at standard rates.
