On November 15, 2020, the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) issued an emergency order in response to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic which takes effect November 18th. Due to this emergency order, our offices in both Sturgis and Coldwater are closed.
HaasCaywood PC will continue full operations, however, with both our attorneys and staff working remotely from home. All of our attorneys will be available to assist clients via telephone and email; we will still be able to receive fax messages; and we will still be receiving regular mail from the USPS. We have also checked with the local courts, and they will still be accepting filings with very limited staffing. So, we will be able to carry on business as usual with the exception that we cannot meet with clients in person. In the event of an emergency situation, such as end-of-life estate planning needs, we will address each of those situations on a case-by-case basis to meet the needs of those clients while still complying with the MDHHS Order.
We are taking all steps possible and utilizing all available technology to ensure a seamless transition for our attorneys to continue providing full legal services while working remotely. Our clients should not see any disruption in the services we provide, despite the state-mandated closure. Our clients will also be able to still pay on their account in the normal course of business either by phone or USPS.
Pursuant to the MDHHS Order, our offices will remain closed until December 8, and we are hopeful that our offices will reopen on December 9. This is a fluid situation, however, with things changing every day, so make sure to check for updates on our website, www.haascaywood.com, and our Facebook page.
All of us here at HaasCaywood PC realize this is a difficult and trying time for many of those in our community, and we want to assure you that we will always find a way to continue providing comprehensive legal services to all of our clients no matter what difficulty arises.
We also wanted to provide an update on some local court closures.
We will contact clients with upcoming scheduled hearings affected by those closures and adjournments.
